Footpath and Cycleway to City Centre

The City Council is currently working on a pathway from Pillmawr Road near the Gladiator Public House via Shaftesbury that will enable residents to cycle or walk from Horrocks Close to the centre of the City.

We had some complaints about the difficulty caused to wheelchair access by the security gates. We are not us re how to solve this issue at present. The barriers are designed to stop motorcycles from abusing the routes. This is a major problem in some areas of the Ward such as the canal path and parts of Westfield. We do not want to extend the problem to Pilton Vale and Claremont or have motor bikes using the pathway into the centre.
